microhive.social is a Fediverse instance that uses the ActivityPub protocol. In other words, users at this host can communicate with people that use software like Mastodon, Pleroma, Friendica, etc. all around the world.

October #running recap: compared to September I have 178.1 → 171.3mi (188.3 w/ walking), EG 1,835 → 3,384ft, 29 → 28hr running.
This was down slightly from September, and is still not meeting my monthly quota 200mi. This month I ran my 4th #marathon #race of the year — Snohomish River Run, and had to taper before the race and recover afterwards.
I'm at 2,181.9 of yearly goal 2,400mi, 183 ahead. Turns out I may still have one marathon race this year (and an exotic one)! Onward!

It was a dark and stormy morning, even if the sun soon rose, but I did the long run of this week. The first half was a struggle (because of strong headwinds), so I'll think of it as character-building... Running in the woods, though, was just wonderful.

My first speed run in ages, I did the "First Fartlek Run" with @coachbennett in the #NikeRunClub app: 17 minutes of alternating pace to push myself (+ 15 minutes to get home). This was hard but fun.

Today, I'm in Oslo, so my morning run had lots of hills.
The highlight of the run was listening to https://youtu.be/YzhjTeSz9y4 as I ran through the warm autumn colors and the cold sunrise in the Vigeland Park. It was such a beautiful moment.

✅ Kullamannen by UTMB 2025 | 100 Miles
Second Kullamannen 100 miler completed (2024+2025) 👏🏻🥳. This one had 100m less vert but was 10K+ longer (~173K). I am super happy to have completed it 🥳 - and no injuries.
It was a hate/love experience: hard as I entered a terminal “cannot-run-anymore” state after 100K 😂. 50%+ DNF tells a story 🥵. Lovely day hours : wonderful nature 🤩

337 DNFs in the end. 52%. Compared to the last three years quite an increase (190-230 then).

18 more. Now at 319 DNFs. That’s 49.07%. And 175 runners still on the course… 4h30min left until the finish closes.
Kullamannen is being quite ruthless this year. Less then 80 finishers after 24 hours. And 300+ DNFs of the 650 starters. Almost 50%. He is brutal this year.
Not doing it this year. After two years in a row. I think I have only done less then five races more than twice in all my running years. In particular trail races but also city marathons. A race is a way to experience something new or special or otherwise not possible. Also the reason why I also almost never race in my home region as most trail races are on my training grounds. No need to race there.
I might return to Kullamannen at some point though. We will see.

Hmmm I once saw a lady trail running using a simple rule to guesstimate how long a run would take. She kinda knew her normal speed and the distance, but for every X meters up she added Y minutes to the time. And for the life of me I can't remember who she was and what X and Y is. I just know it was very useful and pretty accurate to let the lass know how long I would be out for. Any of you lot have seen this or remember it?

Hab mal gerade ausgerechnet, wie weit ich heute gelaufen bin. Trotz Abbruch war ich bei 15.79km.
400 Meter kürzer als die weiteste Strecke, die ich je gelaufen bin.
Trotzdem eine ziemlich krasse Strecke.
Ich denke, auch auf diese Strecke kann ich stolz sein.

Ich musste aber auch unbedingt diese steilen Downhill-Passagen am Sonntag so schnell laufen wie der Rest. Obwohl ich es in der Form vorher noch nie gemacht habe. 
Dafür bekomme ich jetzt die Quittung 😕

Bin sehr stolz! Mein Sohn ist heute seinen ersten Halbmarathon gelaufen und er hat das mega gerockt! Wir waren deutlich schneller als erwartet.
Mein erster Drachenlauf im Siebengebirge. 
Es war matschig. Es war windig. Es war richtig hart. Es war Trailrunning. Es war ein Traum 👍🙂
Jetzt kann ich mich innerhalb eines Tages offiziell Trailrunner und Drachenläufer nennen. Das ist doch mal was 😊
