Had time for an early run. First time this winter in freezing temperatures, so found it hard at first to get out.
As you can guess, it was totally worth it.
Hatte Zeit für einen Morgenlauf, erstmals in diesem Winter bei frostigen Temperaturen.
Brauchte zuerst etwas Überwindung, raus zu gehen, doch wie erwartet hat es sich gelohnt.

I've been run-commuting to work for the past 4 years, starting at ~1x/week and then settling at 3x/week. The distance is usually about 8-10mi, but I've done anything from 6 to 20mi. And I always have a backpack with me (change of clothes, equipment, etc).

A lovely half marathon this morning in Kent. Part of our clubs monthly captains trophy race series.
A 6 minute pb makes me happy. A nice end to a week that was not the happiest.
A flat countryside course. Limited support round the course but suited to fast times.
Would have been happy with anything around 1hr 40 so to get under that was an achievement to me. Felt good at 4 miles so picked up the pace and get it going for the rest of the #running

Additionally - I am proud to say that I am part of his video at around ~09:30-09:45 ish where I very AWKWARDLY say “Hi Marcus hehe” 🙈🙈🙈 …well I was just star struck 🤣🤣

Somewhat similar but a “reverse concept” is done at the Swedish Equinox Race. You are driven blindfolded to an unknown start location and need to find your way back to the finish with just a compass and map (your phone is in a sealed envelope and watches with mapping function are not allowed).
Haven’t found a partner for this yet. You start in 2 people teams.

Escape from Meriden. Never heard about the event. But it looks like a fun, great adventure. The race race starts in Meriden. And the goal is to get as far as possible in 24 hours by choosing your own route.

Als Verpflegung bei den langen Läufen habe ich neben den Energy-Gels ein paar Sachen ausprobiert.
Am besten hat tatsächlich dieser Kindersnack funktioniert.
Somit steht meine Verpflegungsstrategie für den Siebengebirgsmarathon und ich muss mir darum keine Gedanken mehr machen 👍
Was nehmt ihr so mit auf die langen Läufe? Das würde mir wirklich interessieren.
