microhive.social is a Fediverse instance that uses the ActivityPub protocol. In other words, users at this host can communicate with people that use software like Mastodon, Pleroma, Friendica, etc. all around the world.
This server runs the snac software and there is no automatic sign-up process.
My schedule for the Milan #Marathon on April 6th – with a half marathon in between on February 2nd – is ready. 🏃🏻♂️
The only puzzle I have left is when I am going to train.
Even though I am retired, I work every winter at our ski resort at the ski lifts. Then the winter goes by really fast. ☺️
So, do I get up at 4am, have breakfast and train before work or after work, eat late and maybe have a bad night's sleep? 🤔

Morning run
As a birthday treat we have spent a couple of nights in #Gullane, very pretty if sterile. The beaches are fantastic though, although they suffer from a perennial Scottish problem of crowds at this time of the year.
8k along the beach and cost and then back via the John Muir Trail. Believe it or not, heavy rain forecast for the late afternoon.
The dug doubled up on that with his flying ring.

Crisp and dry cold outside. That was tough for the first few minutes, then it became one of the most well-balanced runs this year. I was enjoying myself and the audiobook, had a lot of long glances at the clear night sky – and I was totally on my own, which is one of the treats of running early. 🏃🏻♂️My (adjusted) running goal is to end the year at ~4800 kilometers.
I’m currently at ~4570. So I do have to work for it. But I feel it is doable given my current weekly volume.
If I achieve this, then it will equate to:
- 400 kilometers per month
- 90+ kilometer per week
Those numbers are difficult for me to comprehend tbh 😂. I cannot believe I have run so much this year 😆. I mean … even now, reaching 90K+ requires solid dedication 🙃🏃🏻♂️

Done with 5th #marathon race and 18th marathon run this year: #Seattle Marathon 2024! Official time 3:33:04 @ 8'07"/mi, 1:49 short from my PR 3:31:15! BUT:
1. I got PR in half marathon: 2 sec faster -- 1:41:55 @ 7'46"/mi!
2. This is a much hillier course w/ EG 1,766ft (watch). My GAP is 7'57"/mi, 6 seconds faster than my PR @ #Snohomish River Run w/ EG ~200ft & GAP 8'03"/mi. Had I run that marathon today, I would have scored a faster 3:28:22!
3. Top 9% in my age group! 🙂

My right hip has been causing problems for a few weeks now. However, only after standing or sitting for a while. Walking, stairs, cycling, cross trainers and running are all possible without pain. So I'll be running a little less in the near future and, above all, slower. After stretching I am pain free. I'll try to get a doctor's appointment.
To put up with the frustration, I had chicken kebab from the grill today. 😅

Crunch-crunch-crunch-crunch – that sound accompanied me for ~2 hours this morning. Almost all of the ground is covered with dry leaves which are now frozen. So stepping on them is quite a great feeling and a childhood memories triggering sensation. It was the best part of today‘s morning run, although I can now definitely say that AFRICAN SAMURAI by Craig Shreve is a marvelous novel (based on historical facts). Nice run at Dragonfly this morning! I took Servis Corral trail up to Twin Sisters Creek then followed that to the north end of Dragonfly loop and took that back out. Just beautiful! #running #NewMexico
Today I treated myself to a #trailrun through unfamiliar terrain. #Autumn forest is beautiful right now.
On the other hand, I took a wrong turn and had to backtrack two or three times, since many paths are covered in dry leaves so much, it's easy to miss your turn, especially when running on unmarked trails. :)
Bus to the town of #Stupava, and from there past Pajštún castle ruins, then zig-zagging through assorted forest trails south back towards #Bratislava.
