I'm glad I never paid for Strava, and binned it off when they said they were going to introduce.an A.I
and although I don't use Garmin, I really think Strava needs to remember who the data on that platform actually belongs to..

            Quick Clue...it's not Strava!

This feels like a really stupid thing to do.. again Strava.

Strava is pretending that all the data we, as users, export from OUR devices is theirs. My data is tracked by my Garmin, uploaded to Strava. It's my data, created by Garmin.

Erm. I really don't want to use Strava anymore.

Strava goes bonkers and is apparently drunk by filing a lawsuit against Garmin. Get some 🍿to either watch the video or read the article or both. Glad I gave up on Strava last year after their API and AI fiasco. And them going for an IPO will not make things better.

                                  September recap: compared to August I have 152.2 → 178.1mi (194.6 w/ walking), EG 1,206 → 1,835ft, 24 → 29hr running.

This was up slightly from August, but still not meeting the month's quota (200mi). Work took some of the running time but that's totally self-inflicted. 😛 My VO2Max via also reached new high at 53.7!

I'm at 2,010.6 of yearly goal 2,400mi, 215.5 ahead. My next marathon is in 12 days — last chance to this year! Onward!

I went for a cheeky run at lunchtime and decided to up the ante as I have been cruising along at an easy pace lately, only scraping 3.3k in half an hour. And I managed 4k in 30 minutes, average pace 7’ 43” per kilometre (I usually manage about 8’ 25”). So I’m feeling pretty pleased with myself!

                                                        Safer mileage building strategies:
                                                        - Spread extra mileage across multiple runs, not just the long run.
                                                        - Add small increments to easy runs, warmups, and cooldowns.
                                                        - Progress long runs in baseline increments every other week.
                                                        - Balance distance increases with lower overall intensity that week.
                                                        - Don’t increase mileage and intensity at the same time.
                                                        - Never “make up” lost mileage after a missed week.

For the independently minded people of the Borders these paths solved the problems of cross-Border love and courtship. A common way round this was "Hand-fasting", a widely recognised form of irregular marriage. A couple would promise to live together for a year. At the end of that time, they either remained married for life or agreed to separate with no hard feelings. If there was a baby the man had to contribute to its welfare."
