If you are not sure about your effective max HR, you can't use for your training. Start with a pace based training e.g., the #VDOT concept by Jack Daniels #RunningFormula. After a while you'll figure out your HR zones.

#JacobKiplimo new world record holder half marathon in 56:42 and wow his style was just mind blowing.
During my run yesterday I felt a pain in my calf during an all-out sprint (after doing four similar sprints, up and down a hill). Enough pain that I couldn’t continue. Maybe I did too much in the last weeks. Right now it’s not painful luckily, but still a bit sensitive. I can feel it pulling a little bit when I jog. Doing some calf exercises at the moment, hoping this will solve the issue. I might only go for a very short run tomorrow 😕.

Sento che sarà un mezzo disastro perché l'ultimo lunghissimo l'ho fatto tre settimane fa, però stica, ormai devo scoccare sta freccia, speriamo di aver caricato l'arco abbastanza per fare comunque un tempo migliore dell'anno scorso (3h39 sotto la pioggia) e tanto mi basta. Während des Laufs fühlte ich mich stark und entschlossen. Wie der berühmte Läufer Steve Prefontaine sagte: „Der Geist ist der größte Teil des Körpers.“ Diese Worte motivierten mich, weiterzumachen und meine Grenzen zu überschreiten.

Eine sehr schöne lange Runde bei traumhaft sonnigem aber kaltem Wetter. Auf dem letzten Stück alleine nach Hause habe nochmal versucht das Tempo anzuziehen, teilweise aber mit fiesem Gegenwind. Aber ich fühle mich jetzt wirklich gut vorbereitet und das Tapering kann beginnen!

Yesterday I had an NGO meeting. Decided to go speedwalking
Forth pace 9.30 Hr below z1
Back pace 8.30. Hr in z2
Today tried to stay in z2 while #running
Had to walk some to keep hr below z3. Pace 8.20
Few days ago did a 13k bike commuting. Avg speed 16k/h, hr in z1 z2.
All training advices I can gather is "to Increase endurance 80% of training should be in z1/z2"
Should I add more biking/speedwalking to increase endurance?
Es war der 14. Februar 2025, 06:30 Uhr, als ich startete. Nach 1 Stunde und 5 Minuten erreichte ich 6,9 km. Der Lauf war ein berauschendes Gefühl von Freiheit, ich fühlte mich leicht und voller Energie. Mein Durchschnittstempo lag bei 9 Minuten pro Kilometer. Wie der große Haile Gebrselassie einmal sagte: „Der Weg zum Erfolg ist eine ständige Arbeit.“ Es fühlte sich an, als würde ich diesem Weg ein Stück näherkommen.

Done! The first 1,000 kilometers in this calendar year and then some… The run itself was horrible (too much stuff rolling around in my belly…) – but I wanted to try out the new headlight.
