Today I ran the RK4 of the FlamingSkate routes. The route is paved and mainly flat.
It was a test for gear and nutrition. All went well. Have to think about wearing a chest strap since I got some skin irritation from it. But I think its not so important to get such accurate HR data, so opticalHR is enough.
Weather was also perfect: Cold, windy and rainy. My lovelvy weather

New route today, - Wardija Hill.
It's probably one of the nicest routes I have run. Oddly out of the way, even though it is pretty much right on my doorstep, and a route I had to have my head lamp for, which pretty much guarantees no other foot traffic.
Also the furthest and hardest run since injuring my ribs - I managed it really well, with very little walking, and most importantly, no, in-run rib discomfort.
For those who are runners, I want your opinion.
Tomorrow I have a supra-threshold workout scheduled:
4×5' @ 102-105% CP off 2:45
This is a standard workout part of Steve Palladino's marathon training plan.
However, Stryd does a Workout of the Week, which is "Fast Lane" for this week. It's a set of progressive repeats:

800m @ 92-97% CP off 400m,
600m @ 97-102% CP off 200m,
400m @ 103-108% CP off 200m,
200m @ 110-115% CP off 400m

I've done the supra-threshold intervals many times and have plenty of them scheduled in the coming weeks as I prepare for Chicago.
The supra-threshold workout is probably harder than the "Fast Lane" progressive repeats. However, I don't run at power greater than 108% CP unless I'm doing a CP test. I could use the work at those higher efforts.
Do I stick with the plan and run the supra-threshold intervals, or change things up and run the progressive repeats?

Today's run felt unusually hard, even though the pace was moderate and my heart rate was quite low, but it was completely uneven. Maybe because it was the third day in a row. I'm not a daily runner anymore. But it was also very humid, which I'm not used to at the moment.

#MillTown #Marathon #race is done today! My chip time was 3:24:01 pace 7'47"/mi, and was 9th place out of 130, and the first in my age/gender division! I ran this same course last year as my first-ever marathon race, and this time I shaved off 27 minutes!

It's that way that in the past, you only remember the good things and not the bad. It's the same with running courses. You just think, "Oh, that one goes through the forest so nicely, I could run that again." Of course, you forget about the nasty climb. 😅🏃
Unfortunately, the Kneipp pool won't open for another two weeks.

I had a cramp in my left calf Friday night, so I postponed yesterday's run until today. It wasn't a problem, but I took it easy. It's great to be fit. 10 km in an hour without effort.

Very good experience. Ran to just before my breaking point 👌🏻👍🏻. Almost cramps … just avoided it by managing effort, salt 🧂, hydration etc. it’s been a while since I worked this hard. On road I ran almost at full speed. Sand and stone beach segments slowed down everything ofc 🤠… and some headwind  
That was more fun and more successful than I expected after last weeks marathon. Beautiful day #trailrunning and teaching my legs who has the right of house here.
Might not mean a lot to many, but does to me. Join me in celebrating my turnaround in life and managing to show up for 1250 days in a row now.
