Plank was hard this morning, not sure exactly why though. 🤷🏻 Ankle decided it was still mad at me around 5km in so I aborted short.
Really didn't mind running in the cool rain though.
My 37th half marathon run today on Sammamish River Trail: 1:42:42 pace 7'49”/mi, approaching my PR 1:41:57 set in that disastrous all-descending Tunnel Vision #marathon a few months back (the first half).
Looking at GAP (grade-adjusted pace) though, that run was only 7’56”/mi vs 7'49"/mi today -- so it's in effect a PR! 🙂
With this run, I'm also crossing 2,000 miles for 2024!
Mit einem Halbmarathon in 100 Minuten und einer durchschnittlichen Pace von 4'44" habe ich heute die 2000er Marke gelaufener Kilometer in diesem Jahr geknackt 🎉

Wanted to run longer, but could not come out of bed this morning, so I slept longer, thus my run had to be shorter to be back before family breakfast.
Felt more like work, and did not make that much fun. At least, I got 30km this week.

Good morning! Last day of the holidays, so I started out with a good run, at least after a very slow start. From km 7 on, I finally managed to get some speed together. In some places there‘s at least one foot of dry leaves piled on top of each other. Running through them is a mixed bag: On the one hand, I like the sound, the crunchy feeling, on the other hand, there‘s a certain risk to step on a stone or twig, stumble and fall. Ich lief 8,1 km und startete am 2. November 2024 um 14:06 Uhr. Nach 1 Stunde und 5 Minuten fühlte ich mich erschöpft, aber auch euphorisch. Mein Tempo betrug 8 Minuten pro Kilometer. Es war herausfordernd, aber ich erinnere mich an das Zitat von Steve Prefontaine: „Der einzige Weg, um zu beweisen, dass man ein guter Läufer ist, ist, zu laufen.“
This nasty virus affected my lungs more than I anticipated and I'm still not fully recovered.
I went slower than usual and felt the need to cough sporadically.
I wanted to give up several times during the run but I didn't and slowed down the pace instead.
The plan now is to slowly rebuild my endurance at +1 km/week on my long runs 🏃♀️.

Yup, I was right, but for the wrong reason — my legs seemed to be okay with the run, though my ankle was less than impressed with the idea, so 5KM it was.
So now I'm sitting in my comfy chair, with a cool breeze blowing past me as I ice the ankle, and listen to the sweet sounds of a nearby wood chipper in action. 🤔🤣
A new day, a new route. This time, I came to the edge of the woodwork, climbed over >10 trees and then ran on. It’s not the best route, but it’s working.
My feet were especially heavy today, so my #Running speed dropped considerably. Good luck, I didn’t really care about it. I even managed to finish GOOD TO GO. The chapters about sleep and overtraining had me thinking quite a lot for the last two days… 🤔
Now I‘ve done some strength training and a 90 second plank. Time for the shower!
The woodworkers have struck again: Another part of my route is neigh impossible to pass through… All the climbing over and around trees and through some brush was a tempo killer par excellence. Luckily, I didn’t care that much. But I really hope they‘ll get their stuff done quickly. Ich lief 11,2 km und startete am 1. November 2024 um 08:54 Uhr. Nach 1 Stunde und 39 Minuten kam ich ins Ziel. Mein Tempo betrug 8:52 Minuten pro Kilometer. Es war eine herausfordernde Strecke, aber ich fühlte mich lebendig und voller Energie. Wie der berühmte Läufer Steve Prefontaine sagte: „Der einzige Wettkampf, der zählt, ist der gegen dich selbst.“
Did 10x400m Intervalls. I consider this as a warmup for the indoor playground with the kids later.

Wow! Almost 800 kilometers this October! Not bad, but I ran slightly more last December (~818 km). What really surprised me: Even after running the full marathon, I had no pain or other problems doing a 25K yesterday and a 27K today. Must be that holiday dose of sleeping longer and more. 🤔 Anyway, time to get into the shower, and I‘m getting hungry. Have a great day, y‘all! #Running #applewatchultra2

Tested Gadgetbridge a little bit to come away from cloud based running stats.
Good tool, but unfortunately it saves all fit files in Android/data/... which can not be accessed by my snyc programm so that I can sync the files to my pc for further analysis.
I saw that in the next version you can share files. Hopefully this will solve the issue

Done! Not as fast as the last full marathon, but I‘m happy with that. Lots of elevation gains and perfect weather conditions combined in a long, but beautiful run. That was fun (until ~36 kms in, at that point I was a little fed up with the last segment of my run which was on the street in contrast to the first 33 kilometers on trails). Yeah, the one-marathon-per-year pledge has been fulfilled once more. I‘ll be back with it next year. #Running #applewatchultra2 #Marathon
