Because I wanted to 😆. Really tough. Form broke down after 25K ish to be honest. But good to assess where I’m at. Resulted in a 30K PB - 2h 15m. Satisfied but also see that I couldn’t go further at my intended pace.

Today I participated on a locally organised trail run. I only did the 5k with 150m positive height gain, which was quite nice. Cutest thing though were the hand made medals from local slate (Schiefer) 😍

Continuous stairs today as an alternative to the up and down on the neighborhood hill stairs I did during the week.
About half of Niesen Treppenlauf. Getting there slowly. 5400steps/315floors/1080m of EG in 60 min (90steps/min).
Followed by some sauna afterwards. A best perk of training in the gym.
Planning for a run in the forest during the afternoon. It seems that it will be sunny and around 10-12C. 😎

A while ago I started doing my easy runs while listening to Korean sentences. The audio I uploaded here is a sample from @tomikorean Grammar Book 2
Advantages:
1️⃣ Running slow in zone 2 gets easy because the focus is not on running, but on repeating sentences. If at any point I don't have enough breath to repeat a sentence, it means that I need to slow down.

2️⃣ Even when I don't have time to study #Korean, I feel like I am not losing any progress. Moreover I've seen my pronunciation improve considerably, though I still get challenged by some words (like 깨끗핬으면 "kkekkeutasseumion" 😂)
3️⃣ Memory. It's hard to repeat long sentences in a foreign language and sometimes I say the first half but forget the second one. It's a good exercise to remember things we only hear once.

Oggi mentre correvo al parco per la prima volta in vita mia ho incontrato un collega barefoot, il quale con le five fingers ai piedi correva bello spedito, e quindi abbiamo finito per correre affiancati per qualche kilometro, mentre ci scambiavamo pareri ed esperienze di calzature minimaliste 😋 A proposito, avete sentito che proprio l'inventore delle Five Fingers è morto pochi giorni fa in un incidente di sci-alpinismo in alta montagna?! 😮

Coming back slowly: First run yesterday, second run today. My new (used) Apple Watch will arrive today or tomorrow. I‘m switching back to a standard model. I really loved the Ultra 2 – but it’s so bulky, I just don’t like that. So I ordered an AW 9 (45mm) at Refurbed – no 5G functionality, just the plain old WiFi model. I‘m switching cellular providers, too. So I‘ll lose cellular for my watch anyway. 🤷🏻♂️ Right now, couldn’t care less. #Running #applewatchultra2

@oliviersaraja J'approuve 👏! Je suis à la semaine 11 d' un programme avec le même objectif et bien que niveau poids ça n'a pas trop bougé, mes habits sont plus larges et mon pourcentage de graisse a clairement baissé.
Après, sans vouloir t'effrayer, à un moment ça devient dur. Les sorties "courtes" ne prennent plus que 30 min, plutôt 1h, et pour les longues le temps augmente aussi.
Mais c'est aussi gratifiant de pouvoir enregistrer tout ce volume d’entraînement.

Ich lief 2,2 km am 5. März 2025 um 19:15 Uhr. Die Strecke fühlte sich herausfordernd, aber befriedigend an. Ich benötigte 12 Minuten, was einem Tempo von 5:27 Minuten pro Kilometer entspricht. Es war ein intensives Erlebnis, das mich an das Zitat von Usain Bolt erinnerte: „Ich habe immer gesagt, dass ich der Schnellste bin.“ Es motiviert mich, weiter zu laufen und meine Grenzen zu testen.
Ich bin am 5. März 2025 um 18:39 Uhr losgelaufen und habe 5,9 km zurückgelegt. Es fühlte sich an, als würde ich mit jedem Schritt die Freiheit spüren. Nach 32 Minuten und 45 Sekunden war ich am Ziel. Mein Tempo betrug etwa 5:32 Minuten pro Kilometer. Wie ein berühmter Läufer einmal sagte: „Der einzige Weg, um den Schmerz zu überwinden, ist, ihn zu akzeptieren und weiterzulaufen.“

I am just not entirely pleased by the throwable plastic container. I need to find reusable flasks with a big enough opening. When my kids were babies I had two of those to store mixed fruits. I need to buy them again.

My father-in-law (who is the kindest person you can imagine) is a retired MD. After our get-together today, he advised me strongly not to run for several days to avoid contracting myocarditis.
