microhive.social is a Fediverse instance that uses the ActivityPub protocol. In other words, users at this host can communicate with people that use software like Mastodon, Pleroma, Friendica, etc. all around the world.
This server runs the snac software and there is no automatic sign-up process.
Interesting to see how frequent heat training Kilian actually does (over at Strava). And for how long. And that he uses the indoor bike 🚲 for most of it.

The heat goes on. Today the temperature will rise to 32°C, so this morning I opted for an easy short run at 24°C.
When it's hot I stick to shaded park alleys and always bring water with electrolytes, even if I only run for 30'.

I got a new bib. On my way back I forgot the bag with number/shirt in the train. Hunting down lost+found and the train station personal nothing could be found. Took a train back, talked to the race office on the and when arriving there was a new bag with bin and shirt waiting for me. Now it is hanging around my neck. My HR was in zone “idiotic events that don’t help with rest. 🤣

Last run done before the marathon on Sunday. Knee niggle has cleared up and I’m feeling good. Weather looks a little too warm, and I’ve not done enough long runs where I actually run, or much hill work since Northern Traverse, but I know the course and I should get round ok even if my time is not fantastic. If it's 1h at 22°C, it is already quite challenging. Longer than that, I need at most 18°C.

Of these 4.5 kms at least 2 were *on* the street, not directly next to it. When the second travel bus passed by within less than arm’s reach, I turned around and ran back to my usual route… These first 9 kms were an absolute abomination. 37,1K Trailrun 🏃🏻♂️ mit 650 Höhenmetern bei 27 Grad. Das habe ich heute mit vollbepackter Laufweste als großen Härtetest vorgesehen.
Ich frag mich nur, ob so ein langer Lauf bei den Temperaturen nicht vielleicht etwas zu hart für mich ist. Besonders weil es der bisher längste seit meinem Neustart Anfang Dezember '24 sein wird 🤔
Aber wie immer wird meine Vorfreude höchstwahrscheinlich gleich so groß sein, dass alle Zweifel schnell verfliegen 🙂🤗👍

Humidity dropped, temperatures are rising quickly. I started my run at 16 degrees C, now it’s 23 deg. C. The sun was out, which was great for taking pics, but at the same time it got hot fast… I took the same route as yesterday (which makes it easier to keep my head clear), meeting some of the runners I saw yesterday (one of them seems to run a route just like mine). Booked a rooms for 2 nights in the beautiful surroundings of Arnhem.
The idea is to do a Trailrun every day (if the body allows 🤣).
The first run today, created by Strava, didn't disappoint. Green, woods, only offroad and beautiful views.
Ofcourse I took a recovery drink straight afterwards so I will be in optimale shape back again tomorrow 😝.

@NoisetteDor l'été dernier on a été très "chanceux" avec des températures maximales aux alentours de 18-20°C la plupart du temps et juste quelques jours au dessus de 30°C.
Je croise les doigts pour que la grosse zone de dépression sur le Nord se répète cette année aussi 😄!
@NoisetteDor du coup je me suis inscrite à une course en Septembre 😄, malgré je risque d'avoir beaucoup de sorties ratées à cause de la chaleur estivale imminente.
Mon fils m'a convaincue en voulant courir la course pour enfants d'1 km.

It's around 15°C outside and pitchblack. Sunrise is in about two and a half hours.
Oats and a banana in the belly, backpack on the back, let's go!
A bit late but I finished my run after 4:40h and a total of 50.5k.
It was a bit of a slog, but I'm happy I did it.

Half marathon training ✅
Week 24, run 3/3🏃♀️
I finally did it! 21,1 km and the last 2 were hard 💪🔥.
I kept telling myself that I can't lose face after all the encouraging toots from this amazing community and I won't be as lucky as today with the weather as summer approaches.
So I didn't give up. Slow and steady.
There was a race at the other side of the river, I saw a finish sign and I took it as a good omen at the beginning of my run.
Schöner kleiner Herbstlauf im Juni. Alles cool, bis auf die immer gleichen Asis, die nicht zurückgrüßen, wenn man an ihnen vorbeiläuft.
26,9K durchs Bergische Land 🏃🏻♂️ Immer Auf und Ab. Durch Stark- und Nieselregen. Über oft unebene Wege, die sich in Bäche und Seenlandschaften verwandelten.
Also Trailrunning at his best ✌️😎
Und am Ende war es ein Lauf mit über 800 Höhenmeter. Soviel hatte ich bis dahin nicht mal annähernd. Es geht voran 👍🙂

I have a half marathon race next weekend. I wonder if I will be ready 😅
I bought that last year (early bird) before deciding to run mozart 100. So at the time when buying the mozart 100 ticket, I knew there was a change that the half marathon would get sacrificed. That’s why I marked it as gray in my pinned “race calendar 2025” post.
Even if I feel recovered, then my race will definitely suffer. That’s a bit annoying to know up front.

We started at 05:00 and I was in at 23:50; after 18 hours and 48 minutes.
Austria 🇦🇹 when it’s best 🤩. 80% good weather. Then rain showers 🌧️. Super scenic. Lots of hiking but also lots of running 🥳🤩
The last 10 kilometers - although on paper short - took an eternity 🤭 due to darkness, rain ➡️ mud, massive technical downhill and 1 million stairs UP at Kapuzinerberg. But then; the finish line 🤗

Generally it's a myth that running is bad for your knees. Running is especially beneficial for the cartilage in your joints. It's like a sponge. The repeated squeezing while running helps it absorb nutrients better.
But if your knees are already bad, running might not be a good decision.
