First run in over a month. No goals other than to clear my mind, enjoy the cooler evening temperatures, feel the breeze and enjoy the rustling of the leaves as the wind stirred the branches, to enjoy looking up at a nearly full moon, and let it all wash over me.
Sunday #Workout:
17.8 KM of #cycling with @TAV.
Monday #Workout:
215 seconds of plank.
11 minutes of yoga for runners.
20 minutes of strength training.
6.66 KM of #Running (light rain, 17°C, 100% humidity, and 13 km/hr wind).
Family dropped by Sunday and refreshed our maple syrup strategic reserve, nice to catch up with everyone.
First run in two weeks today in light rain, and everything felt okay, so that's a positive.

Ready for the sunday morning fun run?
It's around 15°C outside and pitchblack. Sunrise is in about two and a half hours.
Oats and a banana in the belly, backpack on the back, let's go!
A bit late but I finished my run after 4:40h and a total of 50.5k.
It was a bit of a slog, but I'm happy I did it.
To test it out I've recorded my thoughts on several points during the run, so for anyone interested; here follows a thread of how my run went
Also Trailrunning at his best ✌️😎
Und am Ende war es ein Lauf mit über 800 Höhenmeter. Soviel hatte ich bis dahin nicht mal annähernd. Es geht voran 👍🙂

I have a half marathon race next weekend. I wonder if I will be ready 😅
I bought that last year (early bird) before deciding to run mozart 100. So at the time when buying the mozart 100 ticket, I knew there was a change that the half marathon would get sacrificed. That’s why I marked it as gray in my pinned “race calendar 2025” post.
Even if I feel recovered, then my race will definitely suffer. That’s a bit annoying to know up front.

One of the official ways in the Bavarian Forests during todays morning trail run :)

✅ Race: mozart 100 by UTMB
We started at 05:00 and I was in at 23:50; after 18 hours and 48 minutes.
Austria 🇦🇹 when it’s best 🤩. 80% good weather. Then rain showers 🌧️. Super scenic. Lots of hiking but also lots of running 🥳🤩
The last 10 kilometers - although on paper short - took an eternity 🤭 due to darkness, rain ➡️ mud, massive technical downhill and 1 million stairs UP at Kapuzinerberg. But then; the finish line 🤗

Generally it's a myth that running is bad for your knees. Running is especially beneficial for the cartilage in your joints. It's like a sponge. The repeated squeezing while running helps it absorb nutrients better.
But if your knees are already bad, running might not be a good decision.

HAMMER!
No need for a protein shake right now. You eat so many flies during a run that you easily cover your protein needs.
😄🏃

I can highly recommend the Night Run. Running up Limperts Hill is a bit like the Tour de France. The crowd cheers you on and gets you pumped up. Luxembourgers know how to party. #running #Luxembourg #ingNightMarathon
@daviddack
Nobody should run a marathon in the first 18 month of running and not before you can do 80k/week. And actually you never have to run one to be runner. And for all the young people out there. Get fast before it gets long.

Cut short due to calf cramp but stil happy enough with this fasted effort 🏃🏻✅ #Running #runnersofmastodon #runner #athlete #Health #fitness #Sport #cramp #Friday #Weekend #june #Summer #Music #mentalhealth #mindfulness #retirement #cutting
Easy morning run with my OBT backpack: 6kg of stuff + 1.5l water = 7.5kg.
I still need to add some smaller stuff and all the food for one section, and maybe some extra water.
Week 1 cutting and half a stone or 7 pounds down (1st week always a big drop) gym workout 🏋🏼♀️ back - core - chest followed by TM 30 🏃🏻 (my beautiful wife received her 25 years NHS service award today 🩵) #Running #runner #athlete #runnersofmastodon #workout #gym #Music #Health #fitness #wednesday #june #Summer #Sport #mentalhealth #mindfulness #nhs #Wife

🏃 Für "nach Gestern" gar nicht schlecht, die alten Knochen haben sich nicht beschwert! Kann wohl langsam die Handbremse lösen 😅🕺
Well, it seems like I have to come up with a new middle-length route for the next couple of weeks because of dozens and dozens of my thumbnail-sized friends here. 🐸
I'm back! (Tentatively)
Knee pain turned out to be a small tear at the lower attachment point of my ITB. The only remedy is to rest (which I did) and to build up more strength in all muscles around it (which I'm doing).
I've been riding my MTB in stead of running, but from now on I can run again, without exaggeration.
