One thing that made #ChatGPT (or any other similar chatbots) stand out compared to something static like #Strava or Runna’s training plans, is the flexibility. For example, when I initially asked it to create a week-by-week training plan, I forgot to mention a September race I signed up recently (#Redmond Harvest Half). It promptly adjusted my plan and now my half would become my tempo practice run before the full marathon race in October!

For my upcoming races, I decided I’m going all in for my #ChatGPT experiment: I’m going to use it as my personal coach for the entire preparation! I already told it the race name and my last Sunday’s race, and then uploaded my run stats today. It basically gave me a green light for today’s run, with a bit nagging to not go fast yet.

This #LongRunSunday I ran my first long run since last Sunday’s #TunnelVision #marathon #race, and it’s also my 62nd half marathon. My focus was getting back on feet rather than pace: 13.22mi time 2:07:43 pace 9’39”/mi. It was 75% easy (Z1+2) with a little push at the end, peaking at 8’17”/mi.
I had my first 100 miles race: The Mauerweglauf along the former Berlin wall.
After 80k I had to walk and after 120k there was no energy available and I couldnt walk well anymore, so I decided to stop.
Anyway, it was a great experience. The race itself but also my training throughout the year. It is the journey that matters :)

Björn Suneson, fellow Swede, finished his 9th ”coast to coast - across America” run at age 77.
He covered 4934km (3066miles) in 105 days running self supported with a baby jogger west to east from the Pacific to the Atlantic.
He did his first coast to coast crossing in 2007 at age 59. So in average one crossing every two years… Apart from this he has been out on other longer tours, like “Trans Sweden (Smygehuk - Treriksröset, 1336 miles in 40 days)” or “All swedish counties, 2175 miles in 63 days”. Always self supported with his baby jogger.
You can read up in English on his journey (and the previous crossings) at https://www.suneson.se/index.php
Trail race done, ok: Brooks O.U.T.81 ✅
That wasn’t easy 🤣. Many times I had near cramp signals. Everywhere in the legs - moving around making warnings.
Anyhow: best race ever - we also had the best sunny warm weather. Drank a lot. Ate a lot. Ran to my limit. Even got a 5th place 🤠🕺🏼. Actually I was told quite a few times I was third .. that changed after km 67. Two stronger runners passed me. Stressful running for podium

If you are looking for a solution on “how to dry soft flasks without hanging them with laundry clips from cupboard handles in the kitchen”….

(Disclaimer: I have never owned a pair of holes, I mean, On shoes. Only seen them in stores and on the net)
Came across these, while looking for something else… …made me wondering though - it seems that the holes are becoming smaller and smaller from year to year, right? Are they silently giving up on them? 😉
#Seattle #Marathon 2025 (https://www.seattlemarathon.org) just announced their new route this year!

Quote: “the full course has about 40% less elevation gain”
Very tempting! I do have a marathon race in mid-October, and this one is on November 30… 🤔
Anyone is going?
First jog/run since Sunday #TunnelVision #marathon #race: only 3.24mi @ 10’57”/mi. Still some muscle ache especially quads, and HR a bit high (avg/max 121/137bpm). But actually feeling better after the run!
A delightful easy fasted 4 in this immense heat which I 🩵🏃🏻🌅

Dithered about whether to go on a run or just a brisk walk. I walked up the hill to my usual starting point, then set off running. I started running and thought, “Oh I can’t do this, I’ll just do 20 minutes and call it a day” but ended up knocking 2’ 25” off my 5k time! Woo hoo!
Now rewarding myself by sitting in the sun on the patio with a very chilled alcohol free pear cider, which I feel is well deserved #running

It was so bad that I was actually having doubt if I could finish. Well, I persisted, and tried my best to have a strong-ish finish — at least about the same pace as how I started.
I was really disappointed with the result, but after a steak dinner, I felt much better. My quads and core definitely need more work, but I think heat also played a large part of today's poor showing.
My next marathon race in October is a flat one (~200ft) -- onward!
3/
The first half actually went according to plan - time was 1:40:44. But then disasters started to strike:
- Mile 17 my quads started complaining, especially the left one.
- Mile 20 it started threatening to quit (cramp). And my left big toe was complaining too (black toe AGAIN!).
- Shortly afterwards I started to have a side stitch.
