Analyze your Garmin data yourself. Something to play with during the winter.

As one of my professors at university said long time ago: “Don’t trust any statistics that you have not falsified yourself”

(irony) “Also very community oriented”

…not allowing your community to discuss these changes.

Ok, it is their forum and their house rules, but then it is not a community, is it?

So far I haven't paid a cent for Strava Premium (I joined in March 2024), three free months and then two vouchers to extend until June 2025. The added value of the premium content is a joke, I would never pay for it. I don't use heatmaps, planning routes with the Coros app, runalyze is great for training and analysis, ... Strava is really just social media crap and constant competition. Subscription is canceled.

Activity quick edit, DMs, killing FatMaps, AI, … and now the API data access debacle. While bugs are not fixed or simple/requested features ignored/not implemented.

I’m even before that I doubted the value of the subscription and services (I only started using it as I got it gifted/free subscription). I will miss the heat map (and route builder). But that alone is definitely not worth the subscription price.

I track my subscriptions via a self hosted Wallos instance (a text file, spreadsheet, or calendar entry would also do it) so I would have been notified about the renewal and could have cancelled in time. But why wait. “Butter bei die Fische” as the Germans say. So it is done…
