An evening session just before sunset. The temperature was 22°C when I started and there was a pleasant wind under a cloudy sky.
Still the heat of the previous days stressed my body and I didn't have the strength to push the pace faster. I have also walked a lot lately, so there's that too.
It was a good run anyway!

Lovely 🙌🏻🤩. Nice entering the trails and then just flowing around there. Undulating mixed terrain. Good contrast to the asphalt road where you just lock into pace x.

Ich bin heute extra um 5 Uhr aufgestanden damit ich laufen gehen kann, denn bei den derzeitigen Temperaturen ist es tagsüber unerträglich. Jedoch hatten wir schon über 26 Grad am Morgen sodass ich nicht die gewünschten 30km erreichen konnte. Naja, vielleicht ein anderes Mal.

For yesterday’s running I joined an in-expensive training event that is done to celebrate the start of the summer:
Törningen är kastad. The dice is rolled. Six hills one dice!
I was “unlucky” and never got a “1”. 🤣
In total I did 12 hills: once hill 6 and hill 5, twice on hill 3, three times hill 4 and five times hill 2. Distance: 8km and 750m of EG. During the 90 minutes of the event.
Kind of fun to see every one running/hiking up and down in several directions multiple times. The courses were offtrail straight through the forest. At the top of the hill you collected a small item as prove of you being at the top.

If you are lucky, you will roll six different numbers and can collect the six hills quickly, if you are unlucky, you will have to run on the same hill several times. Finally. Why have they waited that long anyway? The BAA will start to “readjust” results from net-downhill marathons submitted as qualifying times.
It always puzzled me that it was possible to do and that people tried to “cheat” the system with these “easier” marathons to make it into Boston.

Starting with registration for the 2027 Boston Marathon, verified qualifying times from any course with a net-downhill of 1,500 or more feet will incur a time adjustment to results (known as an ‘index’) after being submitted for Boston Marathon registration. The below time indexes will be added after an official qualifying time is submitted for review to the B.A.A.
Verified qualifying times from any course with a net-downhill of between 1,500 and 2,999 feet (457.2 meters and 914.1 meters) will incur a five-minute (+5:00 minutes) time adjustment to results once submitted to the B.A.A. for review.

Half marathon. I followed the 1:29 pacers for as long as I had power to today; some ~13K ish. Then I had to drop pace a bit to complete it without crashing 😅
Felt ok throughout (but I was working hard, effort wise). Unbeaten crowd support. No wind. Warm weather. Splash 💦 zones 😆👍🏻 from the crowd.
I placed 765 of 11624 😀. Official time: 1:30:37. Strava 2nd PBs: 15K,10M. Half: 1:29:50.

Biber Backyard Ultra 2025. Leider lief das gestern nicht ganz wie gewünscht und so wurde es eine Runde weniger als im letzten Jahr. Das lag zum Einen an der Hitze, vor allem in den ersten Stunden des Rennens, aber auch mein Magen hat etwas rebelliert. Und so habe ich das Rennen nach der siebten Runde beendet. Egal, nächstes Jahr bin ich natürlich wieder dabei!

Hidden super power: can have breakfast any time of the day. On a train to #CPH weather seems to be really nice, maybe a bit too warm for my taste but we’ll see. Have both a shirt and tank top with me. Won’t be a day for a PB anyway with so many people. Just enjoy.
Nice long run today. Pace and Energy was quite good until 35km, then my power dropped constantly. Managed to run until 47km and then walked the rest.
Maybe I had a little bit the man with the hammer, maybe it was to hot, maybe the trailrunning last weekend was still in my bones, many maybes ... Anyway, 47km is a good result and there is still time left until my 100miles in August. So, next week I will do a couple of 35km runs

Look at the pace… 🤣 I took lap splits at the timing and cut off points. There were not a lot of minutes to spare today. 🫣 But in the end it worked out and the main goal was to not die and finish. The time then doesn’t really matter. And seldom you get an elevation chart as this one. ⛰️🫏 Cool T-shirt also. In the right SE colors. 🇸🇪😝
Nächste Runde mit 21km. Langsam wird es warm in Tokyo, es gab 24 Grad. Und wie man auf dem Bild sehen kann war ich bei der #expo2025 in #osaka - es war gut besucht. Ob ihr es glaubt oder nicht, aber der Stand der #Ukraine hat mich sehr berührt.
Die Anmeldung und Reservierung ist ein Horror, das werde ich nie wieder über mich ergehen lassen. Dann verzichte ich lieber darauf.
Made it through the Niesen Treppenlauf. Survived. This was tough. Harder than expected. The cut off daemons were also close by for the first one. In the end I made it to finish. Glad I signed up for it. Man, this was sooo steep and parts up to 68%.

Today I had another #EasyRun for 13 km on my list. Had to force me to slow down a few times. Next up for tomorrow: B-#race for 10km.
Slept longer than intended, so did only a 3k run. The 135m EG caused some sweating anyway.
It's good to get some movement before 15h of flying.
Schlief länger als geplant, damit gab es bloss einen 3km Lauf. Die 135 Höhenmeter brachten mich dennoch ins Schwitzen.
Etwas Bewegung tut gut, bevor man 15 Std. in Flugzeugen sitzt.

No running today, and probably also not for the next weeks 😥. I keep having pains in the right leg, ankle, calve, knee. I'm afraid it's some sort of shin splints. The past 2 weeks I seriously decreased my distances and speed, but it is not enough. Monday I will talk to my trainer and see what his advice will be. From what I read it comes down to rest, stretching, building strength and gradually starting to run again.
