As we're leaving for the Alps 🏔️ on Sunday, I have to reorganize my weekly training sessions.
My easy run happened today instead of Friday and my last long run before the vacation will be on Saturday.
The tracking stopped after 42' and 6 km 🙁. Current data is estimated based on the average pace I kept while the app was tracking. Luckily I knew I had to run for 01:04:00.
One of the coldest mornings so far this winter. Everything was frozen solidly, but that was quite good for #Running – and I had another bonus to lift up my spirit: I restarted PROJECT HAIL MARY by Andy Weir, and its greatness cannot be overstated. Ich lief 3,7 km und startete am 5. Februar 2025 um 19:03 Uhr. Nach 23 Minuten und 15 Sekunden fühlte ich mich erschöpft, aber gleichzeitig euphorisch. Mein Tempo betrug 6:19 Minuten pro Kilometer. Es war herausfordernd, doch wie Usain Bolt einst sagte: „Jeder, der in der Lage ist zu laufen, sollte es tun.“ Das Gefühl, die Ziellinie zu überqueren, war unbezahlbar!

I checked my data back until 2011 and sorted out all runs on a Sunday and plotted them: It startet with a start time at around 8 a.m. and declined over time until today to a start time at around 4:30 a.m.

I’ve set my power range from 253W to 266W and wanted to average 258W.
The first 6km it was so crowded that I couldn’t hold my pace to this range. After this the crowd slowly began to dissolve and I could start to stay in my power range.
I don’t know yet what my official time is, but I clocked 1:47:42. Given my poor preparation I’m happy with this result.

• During warming up (15-45 minutes before the race): 1 Gel 100
• During the race (at 7 and 14km): 2 Gel 100
I finished Arc 25 in 5:54. I was expecting 5-6 hours so happy with that. I messed up my fuelling for the second half and faded hard on the climbs towards the end, but live and learn.

Ich bin 16,3 km gelaufen, gestartet am 26. Januar 2025 um 09:03 Uhr. Die Strecke hat mich 2 Stunden und 6 Minuten gekostet. Mein Tempo war 7 Minuten und 44 Sekunden pro Kilometer. Wish I had a qualifier in place 🙃. Since I heard about this race on one of my running audio books 📚 I must say it spiked a certain interest.
Last year I did participate in a 12h race to see if I could keep up the pace long enough … but that was when the heat got to me and my system shutdown (crazy noob experience btw). Only ran ~100K there.
I have other major races this year that practically cannot be used as qualifiers either. Another year perhaps 😆
Today and tomorrow is adventure time!
I am now sitting on a train to Marloie, where I will start to run a 130km loop using the Transfamenne and part of Transardennaise long distance paths.
Full pack with sleeping system, spare clothes, food and drinks, medikit, waterproof pants and jacket, ...
Good for 7.5kg. (I ditched the stove and hot meal)

A smidge slower than yesterday, but quicker than Tuesday, plus it's the first time I've run back to back in a minimal shoe(and for a while.)
Last night I put the audiobook of Edgar Alan Poe's - The Murder in the Rue Morgue; on my watch, for which I drew inspiration for the name of my run. The mid foot strike, that the shoe encourages, seemingly murdering my past poor posture and form.

Just back from a morning run. Temperature quite bearable, the humidity caused a bit of a sweat though.
Zurück von einem Morgenlauf. Erträgliche Temperatur, doch die Luftfeuchtigkeit sorgte für einen Schweissausbruch.
Am 18.10.24 lief ich meinen letzten Halbmarathon, bevor mich körperliche Probleme mal wieder zu einer Pause zwangen ☹️👎
Da war mir klar "So geht es NICHT weiter ‼️"
Mit vielen neuen Ansätzen startete ich am 02.12.24 dann mein neues Läuferleben - mit 2,5 k 🏃♂️
Und heute (42 Tage später) bin ich wieder einen #Halbmarathon gelaufen. Diesmal aber geht es mir richtig gut danach 👍🙂
