I'm glad to announce the release of version 2.70 of #snac, the simple, minimalistic #ActivityPub instance server written in C. It includes the following changes:

Notifications are now shown in a more compact way (i.e. all reactions are shown just above your post, instead of repeating the post ad nauseam for every reaction).

New command-line option unmute to, well, no-longer-mute an actor.

The private timeline now includes an approximate mark between new posts and "already seen" ones.

Fixed a spurious 404 error in the instance root URL for some configurations.

Ich bin mittlerweile echt ein Snac2 Fan! Das Ganze hier auf dieser Domain war mal als Test gedacht, hat sich aber mittlerweile etabliert und „verselbständigt“. Einfach weil Snac super solide und unkompliziert ist und der Entwickler ein cooler Typ ist, der zuhört und mitdenkt.
Meine Snac-Instanz läuft administrativ bei @knt@streams.knthost.com, weil ich keine Ahnung von grundlegenden Servereinstellungen etc. habe, aber durchaus ab und zu ein Shell-Terminal bedienen kann.

I'm now a huge Snac2 fan! The whole thing here on this domain was once intended as a test, but has now established itself and “taken on a life of its own”. Simply because Snac is super solid and uncomplicated and the developer is a cool guy who listens and thinks along.
My Snac instance runs administratively at @knt@streams.knthost.com, because I have no idea about basic server settings etc., but I can operate a shell terminal from time to time.
The guys are currently offering everything out-of-the-box as a beta test:

I'm glad to announce the release of version 2.69 of #snac, the simple, minimalistic #ActivityPub instance server written in C. Again, this version has been possible thanks to the very valuable help from great people. It includes the following changes:

Added support for subscribing to LitePub (Pleroma-style) Fediverse Relays like e.g. https://fedi-relay.gyptazy.com to improve federation. See snac(8) (the Administrator Manual) for more information on how to use this feature.

Added support for following hashtags. This is only useful if your instance is subscribed to relays (see above).

Added support for a Mastodon-like /authorize_interaction webpoint entry, that allows following, liking and boosting from another account's Mastodon public web interface. To be able to use it, you must reconfigure your https proxy to redirect /authorize_interaction to snac (see snac(8)).

Some fixes to accept Event objects properly (like those coming from implementations like https://gancio.org/ or https://mobilizon.fr).

Added some caching for local Actor objects.

Hashtags that are not explicitly linked in a post's content are shown below it.

Fixed broken NetBSD build (missing dependency in Makefile.NetBSD).

The user profile can now include longitude and latitude data for your current location.

Mastodon API: implemented limit= on notification fetches (contributed by nowster), implemented faster min_id handling (contributed by nowster), obey the quiet public visibility set for posts, other timeline improvements (contributed by nowster).

Reduced RSA key size for new users from 4096 to 2048. This will be friendlier to smaller machines, and everybody else out there is using 2048.

If the SNAC_BASEDIR environment variable is defined and set to the base directory of your installation, you don't have to include the base directory in the command line.

Fixed a bug in the generation of the top page (contributed by an-im-dugud).

Added support for Markdown headers and underlining (contributed by an-im-dugud).

Das ist aber doch alles sehr individuell, abhängig von Belastung, Kondition, Trail oder Asphaltrennen etc.
Für Distanzen unter 30km zb nehm ich nie was zu essen mit, brauch ich einfach nicht. Darüber dann Squeezy Gel ca. einmal die Stunde (je nach Tempo). Wasser ist immer Wetterabhäbgig, im Sommer nehm ich sogar bei 12km Läufen ne Flask mit, jetzt im Winter auch bei HM Distanz nix.
Iso nur ab ab Marathondistanz und so weiter. Was ich damit sagen will ist, es gibt physiologische Notwendigkeiten ab einer gewissen Dauerleistung Energie/Wasser zuführen zu müssen, aber auch eine Menge Erfahrungswerte wie und was dann bei einem selbst funktioniert. Und vor allem was wie schnell funktioniert 😉 So ein Müsliriegel, der "wirkt" erst nach ca. 20 Minuten, ein Gel nach 10 Minuten, Wasser fast sofort, ein Gummibärchen im Mund zerlutschen innerhalb weniger Minuten und so weiter.
Ich versuche bei meinen Alltagsläufen grundsätzlich auf Gel/Essen zu verzichten und laufe immer relativ nüchtern.
Das Thema füllt nicht umsonst diverse Bücher, aber die Essenz ist immer wieder: beachte die Regeln des Stoffwechsels und finde deinen eigenen Weg 🙂

Das ist definitiv so. "Barfuß-Laufen" im weitesten Sinne stärkt einfach den gesamten Bewegungsapparat. Die Trittsicherheit verbessert sich massiv durch irre starke Fußgelenke und stabilen Sehnen. Für mich der schönste Nebeneffekt. Früher bin ich mit "normalen" Schuhen beim Traillaufen leider oft weggeknickt, das kenn ich überhaupt nicht mehr 🙂

Viel Haferflocken, etwa 3/4 der Gesamtmenge, der Rest besteht aus Dinkel- und Gersteflocken und -schrot, Quinoa- oder Ameranth-Pops (oder was grade so gepopptes da ist), Rosinen, Kokosraspeln, etwas Flosamen und Leinsamen. Ich wiege da nix ab, alles mit "Daumenmenge" in die Schüssel und fertig 🙂 Zum Süssen kommt dann Apfel oder Bananen mit ins frische Müsli, ein perfektes Frühstück.

Manchmal fluppt es einfach.

Ich hab die flachen Best Grip Spikes 3000B als Gesamtpaket 3020 gekauft.
Vermutlich reichen 6-8 Stück pro Sohle.
8mm Sohle solle vorhanden sein, sonst wird das nix, ist aber durch die Stollen bei den Ibex kein Problem.

Happy new year. I'm glad to announce the release of version 2.68 of #snac, the simple, minimalistic #ActivityPub instance server written in C. This release couldn't have been possible without the help of several fellow developers. It includes the following changes:

Fixed regression in link verification code (contributed by nowster).

Added ipv6 support for the https frontend connection (contributed by hb9hnt).

New "Like by URL" operation (contributed by dheadshot).

Added support for a Mastodon-like /share link sharing URL, like the one provided by sites like https://mastodonshare.com/ and such. To be able to use it, you must reconfigure your https proxy to redirect /share to snac (see snac(8)).

New linux landlock (sandboxing) support for enhanced security (contributed by shtrophic). It's still a bit experimental, so you have to enable it explicitly by recompiling with the WITH_LINUX_SANDBOX directive (e.g. make CFLAGS=-DWITH_LINUX_SANDBOX).

Some search fixes regarding repeated matches.

The export_csv cmdline operation now exports the CSV files inside a user's export/ subdirectory instead of the current directory.

All CSV files to be imported must now be stored inside a user's import/ subdirectory instead of the current directory.

Mastodon API: more timeline paging tunings (contributed by nowster), post language selected in apps is properly set.

The command-line operation note new reads the LANG environment variable to set the post's language.

A new command-line operation, note_unlisted, allows posting "unlisted" or "quiet public" posts.

The maximum number of entries in users' RSS feeds and in outboxes can now be set via the max_public_entries variable in the server.json file.

Fixed broken support for Audio objects.

Made xmpp and mailto URLs clickable.

I still love my orange Thoni Mara hoodies for such occasions. Drizzle-tested on marathon distances (https://microhive.org/i/web/post/626795398850030996), very light and warmer than they seem. Unfortunately, the company no longer exists, so I hope my three hoodies will last a long time. But maybe you can still find them in some running shops.

Klassisches Weihnachtswetter im Rheinland: 8°C, trüb-diesig-grau. Aber in der Tat fast ideales Laufwetter, jede Pfütze mitnehmen, kein Wind, das macht einfach Spaß 🙂

@BarefootMicha@mastodon.social Es wird ja irgendwie immer komisch geschaut, ist mir allerdings normalerweise völlig egal. Mir fällt das jetzt im Winter halt nur mehr auf, da der Großfeil der Läufe ja im Dunkeln stattfinden, da sieht mich niemand. Aber wenn es dann mal so ein kühler sonniger Lauf am Tag ist, tja … 🙄

Da sind sie wieder, diese seltsamen Blicke anderer Läufer wenn die meine Sandalen sehen. Vielleicht sollte ich auch mal so abfällig auf diese klobigen Treter schauen die ich da immer sehe ...
Dabei macht es einfach befreiend Spaß bei diesem Wetter durch Pfützen und matschige Wege zu rennen. Und ja, die Füße bleiben warm, die sind ordentlich in Bewegung 🙂

This depends on many conditions: Weather, time of year, daily form, time of day, training workload, and what exactly is “a long distance” for you ...
Normally, in normal weather, I take some water with me for distances over 20 km, water is the most important thing for me. I never take gels or similar during training, no matter how long the route is.
I also always take a small flask (250ml) with me for official races lasting several hours, even if there are refreshment stations, and Squeezy Liquid has proved its worth for me personally. A sip once an hour and that's it.

Strangely on a Sunday morning, I'm glad to announce the release of version 2.67 of #snac, the simple, minimalistic #ActivityPub instance server written in C. It includes the following changes:

The search box also accepts post URLs; the post is requested and, if it's found, can be interacted with (liked, boosted, replied to, etc.).

IP addresses for failed logins are tracked and throttled to mitigate brute force attacks (see snac(8) for more information).

Fixed a bug regarding repeated attachments when editing a post.

Mastodon API: Improved timeline pagination in some clients (details: an HTTP Link header has been added), fixed missing audio attachments, fixed an incorrect value for the bot field in newly created accounts, fixed a crash, implemented markers (contributed by nowster).

When running in server mode, the pidfile is locked to avoid concurrent running of the same server instance.

Added documentation and some tweaks to enable static compilation with musl (contributed by Shamar).
